The Clatsop County Job Fair was rescheduled for the end of this month after our first taste of wintry weather left icy roads over Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The national weather service is forecasting some additional snow, or snow mixed with rain overnight Wednesday and cold temperatures persist.
The Job fair is set for February 28th at Clatsop Community College and will help both high school students and adults connect with local businesses that have signed up with Workforce Oregon to have a booth at the fair.
A little taste of the great Southwest comes to Clatsop County this Thursday with two free talks featuring Ravis Henry who will share his experiences and the history and songs of the Navajo.
The Henry family lives in Canyon de Chelly, a protected area of the Navajo reservation where ancient tribes carved out cliffside strongholds 4000 years ago.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has fined Jeffrey Green, the owner of a fishing boat called the Emerald Sea, $28,800 for spilling about 300 gallons of diesel fuel into the Skipanon River near Warrenton in August 2016.
